The elderly and the middle aged people are prone to experiencing backaches every now and then. Even young people are known to suffer from it. The common symptoms include pain around the hips or back, difficulty in sleeping and reduced flexibility in the spine region.
It is for several reasons that backaches might emerge like improper diet, muscle tension, arthritis, and lack of physical exercises, pregnancy, poor sitting posture and excessive physical labour. - Ginger: Back pain can be treated with ginger root. This is because of its anti-inflammatory compounds present in it. It can be used in herbal tea, boiled in water with honey to be consumed or to be applied on the affected region in paste form along with eucalyptus oil.
- Basil leaves: Add 8-10 basil leaves in a cup of water. Boil it until water evaporates till it gets half. Then cool it and add some salt. This concoction is to be consumed daily.
- Herbal oil: It can be used to massage the back to help relax the muscles and to relieve pain. Any herbal oil can be used like coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil or eucalyptus oil. Oil is to be heated until warm and massaged over aching area.
