Working long hours sitting on a chair and staring at
the computer screen is bound to take a toll on your health and posture. One of
the most frequent complains that people have when it comes to working in such
office spaces with such postures is excruciating back pains. While a back pain
takes a lot of time to recede, there are a number of ways through which you can
prevent it.
Here are some measures that you can follow to prevent
back pain as much as possible:
- One of the most important things that you have to avoid when sitting on a chair and working is slouching. A lot of us have the habit of slouching or sitting hunched back, which is extremely bad for our spine and posture. Hence it is important that you keep a check on yourself from time to time to make sure that you are not slouching.
- The chair that you find for yourself should be good. It needs to have a proper backrest. There should be arms to the chair as well so that you can rest your arms on them when working. Your feet should touch the ground when you sit on the chair and your knees should be folded in the right way.
- It is important to move around when you work. Do not sit on the chair for hours on end and keep on working. Get up, take a few breaks and move your shoulder muscles and relax them as much as possible. Wash your eyes too if you have been staring hard at the screen.
- Do not sit with your legs crossed when you are working on the machine. This is not good for your spine since it prevents from being straight and hence in time affects your posture.
So, these are some good old basic tricks that you can
follow to keep your posture upright and prevent back pains.
