The
thoracic region of our spine comprises of a total of 12 vertebral bones and the
thoracic part of the spine transverses thorough this area. This
part of the spine is roughly located between the top part of the lower back and
the base of the neck. The main purpose of the thoracic region of the spine is
to provide stability. Spinal pain can sometimes be specifically located in this
region. You can also experience stiffness, muscle spasms, weakness, limited motion,
nerve pain, stopped posture, etc. along with chronic pain. In some cases pain
in the arms, legs, shoulders, fingers and legs are also traced back to spinal
pain in the thoracic area.
Causes of thoracic spinal pain
The
symptoms of thoracic pain may be caused because of different reasons, so it is
extremely dangerous to do a self-diagnosis and try and treat the condition. A
medical professional will be able to correctly identify the cause and recommend
the most suitable remedy for it. Some of the main causes of thoracic spine pin
are:
· Degenerative Disc-
The support and flexibility of the
spine might get reduced because of the loss of fluid in the discs of the
vertebrae as you grow old.
· Osteoporosis or Arthritis-
When the power of repairing the
old and worn out bones gets diminished, the bones become quite weak and
fragile.
· Poor Posture-
The spine, shoulders and the back
can get badly affected because of poor posture. It weakens the bones in the
region and makes them more stressed and strained.
· Spinal Curvature-
This type of condition causes the
spine to abnormally curve in a certain direction. It results in straining
particular parts of the spine.
· Spinal Stenosis-
It is a type of a rare
degenerative condition and is caused when the spinal canal become narrow.
